Our Alaska Salmon fishing and Trout fishing is accessible only by floatplane; we are over 250 miles from the nearest highway. I have been guiding and hosting guests in this most famous remote fishing area of Alaska since 1975, and my goal is to give you the best Alaska fishing and wildlife viewing trip possible. We specialize in fly fishing for Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Grayling and Arctic Char, tie most of our own flys and provide casting and tying instruction on an individual basis. Even fly fishing novices can expect to catch over 20 fish each day and many of our guests have caught more than 50 salmon in a days fly fishing. Some of our guests prefer to use spin or casting gear and we are equally experienced with this equipment. However, we do not put fly fishermen and spin fishermen with the same guide, unless requested. Shallow easy wading is the most productive fishing method on the Alagnak River and on our fly-out streams. King Salmon however are an exception; they average 30-50 pounds and casting or drifting from the boat usually works best for them. Note: If you want or need to fish from the boat, that is no problem. Our guest to guide ratio is from one to three guests per guide, depending on the circumstances and your need for assistance, casting lessons, etc.

With millions of fish returning each year, the remote Alagnak River is one of the premier salmon streams in the world and is renowned for its Rainbow Trout & Grayling fishing. We also provide optional guided fly-outs to some of Alaska's other very best Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char and Grayling streams. Our guides and fly fishing instructors are highly experienced and know they are working for you! You can expect to see an unbelievable array of wildlife while you are fishing and right out your front door. Brown Bears, Moose, Beavers, Otters, Loons and a multitude of waterfowl are everyday sights on the river. Eagles and Osprey nest all along the Alagnak and most days we get to watch them aerial sparring and fishing right in front of Angler's Alibi. Most important is our fishing program; we take it very seriously. With only ten guests we can cater to each person's expectations for their trip and we always produce exceptional results. In fact, several of our guests have fished at other Alaskan lodges and they tell us that Angler's Alibi finally provided the Alaskan experience that they had expected. We will be happy to provide you with a list of references.
