As they say in real estate…location is everything! In Alaska, this holds true for fishing as well.
Angler’s Alibi is a remote Alaskan fishing lodge located on the Alagnak River and we are just outside the Katmai National Park boundary. Our camp is 23 miles North of King Salmon, Alaska, which is approximately 290 miles S/SW of Anchorage in the famous Bristol Bay area of Alaska.
Angler’s Alibi may be the best example of what an Alaskan fishing experience is supposed to be. Due to our location, we have great fishing right off our shoreline…even off the dock! It is possible to land all 5 species of Pacific salmon without ever leaving camp. We also utilize 7 guide boats, 6 guides, and take only 12 guests per week. This makes our fishing program very easy to customize according to the guests’ wishes and expectations. We offer 9 hours of guided fishing every day, and if that is not enough, we will take guests out after dinner until our 10pm curfew. If this is too much time fishing and not enough time relaxing, no problem! We let the guests dictate how much time they want to fish.
Where You Can Fish (click the name to learn more):
Alagnak River Tidewater: this is right where we are located and it gives you access to all the salmon fishing needed to make your trip a great one without traveling far from the lodge.
Alagnak River Braids: the world famous braids are an area of the Alagnak River where salmon spawn, so we fish for them plus rainbow trout, arctic grayling, and char here. They are a challenge to get to on some days but it’s quick from our lodge and worth it!
Fly Out Fishing Days: the above options are accessed in under 10 minutes from Anglers Alibi but we offer quests the option to take a short, 30-45 minute, float plane ride to several additional areas.
