As fall gives way to winter – are you starting to dream of battling a fresh sockeye salmon or a big king salmon in 2025? Or is your mind focused more on slaying trout and grayling on dry flies and mouse patterns on light fly rods? Who knows. But what I do know is that some clients simply do not have the time to spend a full week doing it. The solution? Angler’s Alibi is proud to announce that for the first time ever we are offering brand new 3,4, and 5-day options for July anglers and wildlife viewers. Why? Well, the Alaska travel industry trend is moving towards offering clients these shorter stays - especially in July when anglers might be pursuing sockeye and king salmon simply to “round out” their vacation at our unique and remote area of Alaska. Maybe they have a work trip in Anchorage and want to extend their trip? Maybe they came to Alaska to fish in the ocean for species like halibut, rockfish, and cod in a place like Seward and now want to experience the ultimate river experience? Maybe they just want to get in and out of camp loaded up with sockeye salmon filets to bring home! Sockeye numbers have been at an all-time high the past several years on the Alagnak river and our guests routinely leave with full coolers of sockeye after only a few days fishing. Some want to come just for the thrill of catching and releasing a king salmon. Do it! We also have an extraordinarily strong grayling fishery in addition to some incredible trout options this time of year in both our home river as well as the many fly-out options for trophy trout (did I mention mice?). Strong returns of salmon - which spawn and die - are providing an amazing food source that has led to us to some of the best trout fishing in my 30+ years of guiding up here! There is simply no better time than now to partake on some of this incredible fishing while other lodges in Alaska are experiencing mandatory closures of sport fishing - we are still thriving! 2025 is going to be epic with all the upgrades and improvements we have made! Real log cabins featuring full, in-suite bathrooms is the game changer! When you add to that covered porches with a spectacular view of the Alagnak River – well it really is going to be a season to remember! Creature comforts abound as you complete your day with a sauna and then find your way to the main lodge to relax in front of the wood burning fireplace with your favorite adult beverage. It is both exciting and nostalgic to think that Anglers Alibi is no longer in the “tent camp” category and now officially in the “full lodge” category. What we are also proud of is the fact that we have made all these changes and yet are keeping our rates competitive with all other lodges in the Bristol Bay area - especially considering our “small lodge feel” with a maximum of 12 guests per week! Call me now to learn more. We feel strongly that these new shorter July trips will fill up fast. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday wherever you may be with friends and family! About the Author
