Dining with Angler's Alibi
Dinners at Angler’s Alibi are an integral part of our Alaskan fishing lodge experience;. One that, along with great fishing, keeps customers coming back year after year. Excellent fishing -- as good as it can get in Alaska -- earn Angler’s Alibi rave reviews (see our Trip Advisor reviews), but our attention to the guests’ food experience earns positive feedback, every year. We utilize as much fresh product available during the course of the summer to keep the meals simply amazing! A new dining lodge and handcrafted reclaimed wood table add to the experience as guests enjoy our Chef’s creations including prime rib, fresh sushi and smoked salmon appetizers (caught each day in the Alagnak River), and savory dishes from scratch. Returning clients often bring in fresh fruit and vegetables to enhance our options. Every dinner is finished off with a homemade dessert like chocolate mouse or crème brulee to mention a few.
Don't worry about fuel in the morning for boats or yourself...guests start their Alaska fishing day off with great breakfasts too. Breakfasts at Angler’s Alibi are always to order. All our guests are woken up bedside with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate daily. Once they arrive to the main dining lodge, guests have the option of an omelette bar every day of the week with specials like breakfast burritos, eggs benedict, or homemade french toast. There is not a guest that heads out on the river without a satisfying meal to start the day.

Chef Jackson Gilmore
Chef Jackson joined the Angler’s Alibi family in 2017 under the guidance of Chef Robert Holtzman and immediately gave us confidence of his ability to step in as Head Chef. His attention to detail and his work ethic is beyond reproach. He was a huge hit with the entire staff and guests, alike. Jackson was eager to please with a wide range of culinary specialties, from creating custom made sugar-free deserts for dietary needs of customers, to plating up a sushi dinner for the entire camp!
Chef Jackson creates a top-notch dining experience for guests by leveraging his tenure on his competitive high school cooking team in Flagstaff, AZ. Jackson earned accolades and accumulated several honors and titles, such as Arizona’s Top 10 High School Junior Chef and was named 5th in the state as a Senior. He has also studied under a Master Sushi Chef in his home town of Flagstaff Arizona to further enhance the fresh fish dining experience at Angler’s Alibi. Jackson is a US Foods Scholar and is currently studying business at Oregon State, which fortunately runs on a trimester system, allowing him the flexibility to be with us the entire season. Chef Jackson shared his talents and passion for cooking this past summer as Head Chef and was given rave reviews by the guests on their departure interviews. He was even offered some cooking opportunities over the winter by some of the guests but declined due to his college plan. Chef Jackson looks forward to adding more exciting options to the menu in 2019 which both staff and guests are looking forward to experiencing! |
