Alaska Guided Fishing Lodge

3/29/2013

At Angler’s Alibi, we consider our Alaska guided fishing lodge to be the top tier of all river lodges. We have the highest guest to staff ratio with 10 to 9, and a 2 to 1 guide ratio. It is this employee base that allows us to offer unbelievable customer service to all our guests. This is only part of the reason why we have such a high return rate of guests. Our guided fishing program offers more quality time than just about any other place you could ever travel to in Alaska for guided fishing. We offer 9 1/2 hours a day of guided fishing before cocktail hour, then if guests wish to fish the evenings, we offer more guided fishing time until our 10pm curfew. This extra time on the water is seldom used though as our guests are usually very tired from a full day on the river, catching salmon all day long.
Our guides are all licensed Coast Guard Captains, and are very professional in their daily routines. We rotate the guides daily amongst the guests so that everyone can enjoy the 5 Alaska guides we have while on their Alaska fishing trip. It is our goal to always exceed our guests expectations, and this is well documented with our high return rate of guests.

The Alagnak River is located in the famous Bristol Bay watershed and receives one of the largest salmon runs in the world. The Alagnak River has over a million sockeye salmon on average per year swim right past our lodge, and with them are king salmon, followed by chum salmon, silver salmon, and pink salmon. It is literally full of salmon from the first of July through the end of August. Full of fresh fish in the tidewater section of the Alagnak River where Angler’s Alibi is located. This allows us to target fresh salmon every day we are open with a ten minute boat ride or less.

Our location allows our guides to take fly-outs to famous Katmai National Park. These rivers in the park are legendary, and we know when and where to fish these rivers to capitalize on unbelievable rainbow trout fishing.

About the Author

John Perry with a Rainbow Trout
John Perry grew up in Michigan on an island called Grosse Ile, in the mouth of the Detroit River and Lake Erie. It was here, surrounded by great fishing and waterfowl hunting that John developed a passion for the outdoors. John moved to Colorado to chase trout in the summers and ski patrol in the winters. John had the privilege to start guiding for Angler’s Alibi with his fly fishing mentor TR Rafferty the second year it was in business. He left a head guide job in Colorado to pursue bigger and better fish.
