This past season, Angler’s Alibi Remote Alaska Fishing Lodge is happy to note that guests had one of the top 3 king seasons since opened our doors in 1994! Right from the first day of the season, the average king per boat tally was in double digits and the guides never looked back. The king salmon fishing only continued to get better throughout the month of July until finally slowing down the last week of July when we still were able to land 13 king salmon on the last day of the season with 2 rods targeting kings only after lunch! We anticipate another strong run as we did catch a lot of jack kings in the 17#range, indicating that there would be a return from this age class averaging 25-35#’s this season. We can only speculate, but with the indicators from last season, the 2012 king salmon season should be another one for the ages! Many guests of Angler’s Alibi consider it one of the top Alaska fly fishing lodges in its class – you can read reviews at the Anglers Alibi Trip Advisor page. Because of that, we are fortunate to have a 90% return rate from 2011 and an overall average of 80% return rate of guests since we opened our doors. However, we always look forward to meeting some fresh new faces as well as seeing our old friends for another great year fishing the Alagnak River! About the Author
