Angler’s Alibi Alaska Fly Fishing Lodge

It is that time of year where every day is an important step in making everything come together for another great summer on the Alagnak River with Angler’s Alibi, a remote fly in fly fishing lodge located in the famous Bristol Bay watershed.  The logistics that are required from figuring out several different food and beverage orders, to getting the shipping set on the barges, planes, and boats, is a bit overwhelming at times.  But, if you want to have a wonderful season loaded with good memories, this is the critical time for a lodge to make sure we will be fully stocked with everything imaginable to have another great season on the Alagnak River.

It is that time of yearOne of our new upgrades to Angler’s Alibi this summer will be a commercial grade vacuum packer.  Our returning guests will be delighted to have all their fresh Alaska salmon packaged in a professional manner with a much better shelf life than our previous method.   We will also be offering all guests the option of taking home up to 10- 10″X13″ inch bags of smoked fillets from their weekly catch.  In the past, we were not able to do this, but with the addition of a professional butcher and smoker on hand all season, this will be a nice welcome change as well.

The season is now a month away for the staff of Angler’s Alibi, and we are very anxious to get this season started!he Alagnak River.

​John Perry grew up in Michigan on an island called Grosse Ile, in the mouth of the Detroit River and Lake Erie. It was here, surrounded by great fishing and waterfowl hunting that John developed a passion for the outdoors. John moved to Colorado to chase trout in the summers and ski patrol in the winters. John had the privilege to start guiding for Angler’s Alibi with his fly fishing mentor TR Rafferty the second year it was in business. He left a head guide job in Colorado to pursue bigger and better fish.
