Wow! The Kings have moved up the River in large numbers, and several boats landed over 30 King salmon a day on conventional gear, while the average was in the respectable 10-15 a day range. The 1st run of Chum Salmon has arrived, and provided 2 guests extremely hot action, with over 60 Chums landed via Angler’s Alibi fly fishing in a single day…pass the Advil! Our Fly out to the Brooks River was fantastic for both trophy trout fishing and exceptional Bear viewing. Many Trophy Rainbows were landed, with 4 exceeding 20 inches. On the Bear front, we were treated to an up close view of a Sow and 3 cubs, who minded their business as we minded ours. The BBC was filming a documentary on the Grizzly Bears at the time, and Angler’s Alibi guests may be in the footage in the background catching rainbows. Pink Salmon have just begun to show up in our River. With the current number of King Salmon in the river, however, no anglers are targeting this species. We are having a great time, catching a lot of fish, and invite you to check back for more reports next week. Tight lines, JP About the Author
