Angler’s Alibi Week 4, July 23 – 30

​Angler’s Alibi Week 4 continued to have very strong fishing for both Kings, chums, and the continued start of the pink run. Most guests elected to target kings this week due to the great catch rates we were still seeing from around the fourth of July.  It was amazing but sad at the same time to be having another great king run while the famous Kenai River was closed to sport fishing on the mainland. I am sure they will recover soon with the help of the sport anglers.

​We had a wonderful trip to the Alagnak River Braids this week catching some nice trout and a whole lot of grayling with some very young guests from Florida, age 7 and 10.

Another wonderful trip to Brooks this week as well produced some very nice rainbow trout and some great bear viewing while fishing.

​John Perry grew up in Michigan on an island called Grosse Ile, in the mouth of the Detroit River and Lake Erie. It was here, surrounded by great fishing and waterfowl hunting that John developed a passion for the outdoors. John moved to Colorado to chase trout in the summers and ski patrol in the winters. John had the privilege to start guiding for Angler’s Alibi with his fly fishing mentor TR Rafferty the second year it was in business. He left a head guide job in Colorado to pursue bigger and better fish.
