Angler’s Alibi Week 7, August 13 – 20

​Week 7 is toted as our best silver week of the year. With the late start of the pinks, and the continued sunny weather, we were still catching huge pink salmon all day long with having to go deep to target the silver salmon from the boat, or sink tips from the drop offs of bars as they were staying deep in the bright weather.

​At the end of the week, the nice weather broke and we were treated with good normal rain and wind…which meant catching silvers like we were catching pinks with triple headers one after another!

Fly-outs to Moraine and Contact Creek were literally as good as it get’s with great numbers of big bows on Moraine and unbelievable numbers for huge char on Contact Creek!

What a great way to end the season on a silver high note and fly out for the ages

​John Perry grew up in Michigan on an island called Grosse Ile, in the mouth of the Detroit River and Lake Erie. It was here, surrounded by great fishing and waterfowl hunting that John developed a passion for the outdoors. John moved to Colorado to chase trout in the summers and ski patrol in the winters. John had the privilege to start guiding for Angler’s Alibi with his fly fishing mentor TR Rafferty the second year it was in business. He left a head guide job in Colorado to pursue bigger and better fish.
