What Kind of Fly Fishing Gear Do I Need to Bring To Angler's Alibi?

​Everybody that takes a fishing trip to Alaska is a first timer once!  So, we will often get a lot of questions about preparing for your trip to the wilderness.  You may have a long list of things you think you need, but Angler’s Alibi provides all fly fishing gear to their guests (with the exception of waders and wading jackets as noted below).  Below is a summary of fishing gear that we provide – Contact Us with any questions and check out our tips on packing for a remote Alaskan fishing trip.

​All our gear is top shelf and ready for you when you arrive.  If you want to bring your own gear, that is no problem and we would be glad to assist you with your list of recommended gear.

• We supply 9 wt. fly rods for silver, chum, and pink salmon fishing
• 10 and 11 wt. fly rods are provided for chasing the big king salmon.
• We also carry spey rods for targeting King salmon as well as the many silver, chum, and pink salmon of the Alagnak.
• Anglers Alibi also provides all flies with a huge selection of proven fly patterns all guides carry.

Please note that, while we do not carry waders and wading jackets for the guests,  we do have some spare gear shall a guest have a mishap with the airlines.

About the Author

​​John Perry grew up in Michigan on an island called Grosse Ile, in the mouth of the Detroit River and Lake Erie. It was here, surrounded by great fishing and waterfowl hunting that John developed a passion for the outdoors. John moved to Colorado to chase trout in the summers and ski patrol in the winters. John had the privilege to start guiding for Angler’s Alibi with his fly fishing mentor TR Rafferty the second year it was in business. He left a head guide job in Colorado to pursue bigger and better fish.
